TOPPER FUN DAYS

Location: Wilsonian Sailing Club, off Main Road, Hoo, Rochester, Kent, ME3 9HF
Times: 09.30hrs to 16.00hrs
Cost: £20 with booking.

The Topper fun days are about giving you the opportunity to have some fun afloat on a Topper dinghy. You can come as an individual, a group of friends, a Scout Troop, an Explorer Unit or as Network,/Active Support/Leader group. If you are a beginner or an experienced sailor we can provide some fun for you. While we cannot guarantee the weather we will try to do something afloat whatever comes our way

Bring a packed lunch, hot and cold drinks will be provided. The club operates a tuck shop for younger sailors and a bar for those over the age of 18.

Kit list:

Those attending will need to arrive in full uniform and bring at least two changes of warm clothes (including a hat), a pair of old trainers (which will get wet) or dinghy boots, a couple of towels, packed lunch, drink, spending money and a light waterproof jacket. Hot drinks will be provided.

Glasses should be worn with a retaining strap (a length of string will do).

Several layers of clothes are better than one thick jumper but remember you need to leave room to put a buoyancy aid over the top.

Wellingtons must not be worn. Denim and other materials which become heavy and cumbersome when wet must not be worn.

If sunny, long sleeved tops and high factor sun cream will be needed.

You must be able to swim 50 metres in ordinary clothes and keep afloat for five minutes.

Photographs and video recordings taken at Scouting events in Kent may be used for Scouting purposes. i.e. on internet, printed material (including the press) and presentations.
