The 41st Medway conker bash will take place at the 41st Medway Towns Headquarters from 19.00 to 22.00 on Friday 16th October. All Medway Towns Scouts are welcome. The entry fee is 50p per Scout. Please let the 41st Medway know the week before how many of your Scouts will be attending.
The tuck shop will be open and there will also be a sausage sizzle outside.
Anybody who is able to obtain some big conkers for the evening, or who is able to help by running a small base (Scouting or not) for Scouts once knocked out should also get in touch with the 41st Medway.
41st MEDWAY TOWNS SCOUTS CONKER BASH RULES
Rule 1
1.1 The usual rules of conkers are to be observed.
1.2 Conkers will be held at arms length.
1.3 Strings count as a strike,
1.4 No stamping.
1.5 Any part of a conker left on a string after a strike, still constitutes a whole conker.
Rule 2
The contest will run on a elimination basis.
Rule 3
Each District Troop shall be notified of the event so they can ask their Scouts if they would like to take part in the event.
Rule 4
The shields will be held by the winners & the runners up for one year but must have their group name engraved on a brass shield and return the shields to the 41st Medway Scout Group two weeks before the next event.
Rule 5
The event shall be held in October or the first two weeks of November.
Rule 6
The shields shall be returned to the 41st Medway in time to be presented to the new winners.
Rule 7
The shields shall be presented a member of the Medway Towns Scout District Team.
Rule 8
During the shields holders year the responsibility of the care and condition of the shields is theirs, any damage will be charged accordingly.
Rule 9
Each Scout entered will cost 50 pence, this amount can only be altered by the 41st Medway.
Rule 10
Any infringement of the rules, or any part of a rule will result in the disqualification of the contestant or contestants.
Rule 11
All conkers shall be supplied by the 41st Medway Scout Group.
NOTE
Any safety equipment can be worn by the Scout as deemed necessary, but must be supplied by his Group or by the Scout. The 41ST Medway Scout Group cannot be held responsible for any injuries that may happen at this event.
