The Thant Countryside Trust owns and manages Monkton Nature Reserve in Thanet, near the junction of the A253/A299 Thanet Way. They have facilities to cater for sessions with small groups and can assist with badges such as the Astronomer Activity badge, Global Conservation and the Cub Scout Naturalist Badge.
The 16 acres of the Reserve contains a variety of diverse habitats from woodland, cliffs, chalk grassland with water-lilies in the ponds and bats in the cave.
