3 opportunities for young people:
Youth Opportunity Fund
The Youth Opportunity Fund gives young people the chance to apply for up to £5,000 for 'things to do, places to go'. The next deadline for receiving completed application forms is midday on Friday 14th October 2011
Application forms and guidance can be downloaded from www.kent.gov.uk/youthfunding
We will also be arranging training over the coming weeks in each area for any young people who would be interested in taking part in the YOF Decision Maker's Panel. If you know any young people who are interested in getting involved then please just let me know!
Aiming High Young Inspectors
The Young Inspectors programme is an opportunity for disabled young people aged 11 - 25 to get involved in inspecting the services important to them. The young people will have the opportunity to take part in a free training residential from 7th - 9th October 2011 at the Kingswood Centre. The young people will choose the services they want to inspect across Kent and design the criteria for these inspections, as well as take part in a number of activities at the centre!
If you know of any young people who may be interested please get in touch! The next countywide meeting will take place on Thursday 29th September, however, if you know any young people who are interested then we will arrange a time to come along to your project and meet them before then!
Kent Youth County Council Elections 14th - 20th November 2011
Young People can now register online to be a Candidate in this year's Elections by going to www.kent.gov.uk/kycc
The next KYCC meeting on Sunday 18th September, 10.30am - 4pm County Hall, Maidstone is open to any young people & youth workers who would like to find out more about the work of KYCC, what happens at a KYCC meeting and more information on the election process. We are able to refund young people's travel costs. Please let us know in advance if you are planning on bringing any young people along or if you know any young people who are planning on coming along.
Please don't forget about the KYCC Community Seats, please find attached a copy of the registration form attached for any young people who would like to represent their community on KYCC.
