An Adult Training Weekend is being held in Folkestone on the 10-11th October 2009. This is a fantastic opportunity for Leaders needing to complete training modules to get a whole lot done in one go! Answers to common questions are given below. An information pack including further information such as module times and an application form can be obtained from the Local Training Manager; or leave a comment below and the Webmaster will send you one.

How do I get there?
The School is located on the A259 between Folkestone and Hythe to the east of Hythe.
Do I need to attend the whole weekend?
No, you may attend just for the modules you need. Time between modules may be taken up discussing training needs.
Can I just turn up?
No, you will need to book in advance.
Do I need to complete an application form?
Yes, you will need to complete and submit either the enclosed application form or download the separate form from the website and pass it to your Local Training Manager.
The closing date for applications is 28 September 2009.
What is the cost?
There is no charge for the training. There will be a charge for catering as detailed below.
What are the catering arrangements?
It is your choice; you may be self sufficient or you may opt to have meals provided. These will include a light lunch (£2.00) and evening meal (£5.50) on Saturday, a light breakfast (£1.00) and light lunch (£2.00) on Sunday. Please complete the appropriate section of the application form. These must be paid for in advance with cheques being made payable to “Kent County Scout Council”.
Requests for catering will not be accepted after the 28 September
What is the overnight accommodation?
It is your choice; you may bring your own tent and equipment or shared classroom space will be available. Limited bathroom facilities are available. Please complete the appropriate section of the application form.
Will I receive confirmation of my application?
If you hear nothing, your application has been accepted. You will be notified only if there is a problem.
Is uniform required?
No, but name badges will be issued which must be worn at all times for security reasons.
Will I be able to have modules validated?
There may be Training Advisers available to meet with you if you wish. They will assess whether or not you are able to meet the required validation criteria on previously acquired learning/training. Any learning / training acquired at this weekend will need to be validated at a later date by a Training Adviser.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes, a certificate of attendance detailing the module training attended will be forwarded to your Local Training Manager shortly after the weekend

This is also an opportunity for you to fulfill any ongoing learning requirements by attending a module or two as a refresher.
Foxwood School and Kent County Scout Council will not be liable:
- for any damage caused to cars parked within the School grounds or any loss from same.
- for any damage to, or loss of tentage and equipment left and used within the School grounds.
- for any personal belongings Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the School buildings or grounds.
