The Medway Towns District Scouts website has now been up and running for just over a month so the Webmaster decided it was time to share some statistics…

Since the site went live 82 pieces of information about events and activities relevant to Scouting in the Medway Towns have been published.

According to Google Analytics, in the last month (10th April - 9th May) the site has been visited by 766 unique visitors on 1,173 occasions. There have been a total of 3,630 page views with the average user viewing 3.09 pages and spending 2 minutes and 5 seconds on the site.

17 comments have been left on 10 pages of the website and 26 messages have been sent to the Webmaster and members of the District Team using the contact form.

The most popular pages were the front page, the Group Links page, the Kent Online News Page, the District News and Events pages and then the St. George’s Day Parade page.

About 61% of visitors came from search engines such as Google and Yahoo, 25% from "direct" traffic (people typing www.medwaytowns.org.uk into the address bar or using bookmarks), and 14% from other websites linking to us and visitors following links in webmail.

The majority, some 1,124 visits, came from the United Kingdom, but visits were also recorded from the United States (13), Canada (5) and Australia (4). A variety of other countries including Spain, France, Belgium, Canada, Cyrus, Malta, Algeria, Thailand, Serbia and the Netherlands also appeared in the list.

Within the UK most of the visitors came from Chatham, Rochester (including Strood), Maidstone and London, but the names of over 40 other UK towns and cities were also present, including Edinburgh, Belfast, Truro and Dover.

Approximately 78% of visitors use Internet Explorer as their web browser, 14% use Firefox, and the remainder use other browsers such as Safari, Chrome and Opera.

For a brand new website with limited publicity the Webmaster feels these are very respectable figures!
